Daily Voting News - 20 December 2004

I would like to point everyone to the article toward the bottom that was written by Thomas Hargrove of Scripps-Howard. It is another excellent piece of investigative reporting from Mr. Hargrove and his team.

The last article concerns Hocking County (remember them? The county that had Triad GSI fix their machine just prior to the recount) and the fact that they had a tech in to re-do what was done previously, this time in front of the Prosecutor and other investigators. The whole team, including observers from the Green Party, now seem to have given the actions by Triad their blessings. County after county, in Ohio, have reported differences between the hand and machine counts, yet no one is calling for a 100% recount as is required by law.

In New Mexico, the money that was required by law was put up for a complete recount but the Governor and SoS (both Democrats) do not want a recount so they have asked for 10 times more money to pay for it. Does no one follow the law anymore? Any information that we get from recounts will be of great assistance in the formulation of legislation in the future. We are getting nothing, it seems.
